LETTER: Smith would tax ultra-rich to relieve middle class woes

To Ozaukee Press:

Our Congress needs new, vibrant and honest leadership. We have seen what the MAGA movement has done with tariffs, inflation, wasteful spending (west wing, pool), wars, and voting rights. We need someone who will listen to the middle and lower income folks who can no longer raise a young family on $100,000 or less a year.

After doing some research on Brad Smith, I recommend voting for him. He has lived in Wisconsin all his life, served in the Wisconsin National Guard and is a small business owner. He received an MBA from the UW system. Brad is a young family man and from his experiences in a rural and small city culture he understands the needs of families and smaller communities.

He believes no one should lose their life’s savings because they have a terminal illness. People shouldn’t have to choose between groceries and prescriptions.

Brad also believes we should have a system that makes it easier for our kids to transition from high school to an affordable technical or four-year college to obtain a meaningful career.

To help pay for these programs, he would support a bill that removes many of the deductions and tax shelters that benefit large corporations and the ultra-rich.
