LETTER: Polls show most voters approve of voter ID, so why the fuss?

Rasmussen Reports recently issued results from a poll showing that just 21% of those surveyed opposed voter ID. The poll also found that 60% of those who identified themselves as Democrat voters supported voter ID requirements. An AP poll found that 72% favored voter ID.  

Prior to the recent passing of Georgia’s voting law, the Atlanta Journal Constitution published an article reporting that a survey found that 75% of Georgia voters, including 55% of Democrat voters, supported voter ID.  

Yet when the Georgia law requiring stronger voting rules passed, bigoted lawmakers and even the president of the United States took to divisive rhetoric, and Major League Baseball, Coke and Delta and other supporters of the cancel-culture announced plans to punish the state of Georgia.

Their position seems to be that it is perfectly acceptable to take control of citizens’ ability to freely move about by requiring a “vaccine passport,” but let us not dare provide for secure and honest elections by requiring someone prove who they are.

It appears the Democrat strategy to advance their agenda is to nuke the Senate filibuster. Would somebody please remind those same Democrats that last year alone they used the filibuster more than 300 times?  In years past they defended it.  Now that they view it a roadblock to their purpose and call it a “Jim Crow era relic.”

This attempt to cancel the sovereignty of the states and their right to govern themselves is just the beginning.
