LETTER: Police officer was there to help woman in tragic circumstances

To Ozaukee Press:

I want to thank and commend the Port Washington police officer who came to help me in a very difficult situation. When I called 911, Officer Jerry Nye responded to my home almost immediately. My husband had been stung by a bee and had a tragic allergic reaction and complications that later claimed his life.

Officer Nye was so kind and helped me call my family to meet me in the ER and also made sure my stove was turned off, and even put the meat I was preparing for dinner back into the refrigerator. He drove me to the ER and waited there with me until my family arrived. I am forever grateful for his professional and compassionate care.
