LETTER: Ozaukee Democrats support Family Services in its vital role

To Ozaukee Press:
Because Ozaukee Family Services is so vital to our county’s children and their families, the Democratic Party of Ozaukee County recently contributed $250. It’s a part of our commitment to charitable giving that supports local nonprofits.
Family Services offers an array of mental health services across the county, including family and youth programs, counseling and senior citizen outreach. These programs have helped more than 150,000 Ozaukee residents since its 1974 inception.
According to the organization, increased demand requires a move to a larger location, which will occur in February. The new building will allow Family Services to aid all who need its support. However, the space requires significant repairs. We hope our contribution with others will make the transition easier.
The Ozaukee Democratic Party is made up of local people who care deeply about their community. We see donations like this as a way of helping our neighbors and county.
Earlier this year, the party held an event that raised $1,500 for local food pantries. The party also collected over 100 articles of clothing for Afghan refugees at Fort McCoy and contributed $250 to help the Ozaukee Washington Land Trust protect the Cedar Gorge Clay Bluffs.
