LETTER: Join Saukville silent march in memory of the victims of 9/11

To Ozaukee Press:

This letter is to remind Americans of the unprovoked attacks on our country on Sept. 11, 2001 and the innocent victims who died as a result.

On Saturday, Sept. 11, a silent march in Saukville, as part of the American Legion’s national commemoration, will honor the victims of the attacks by memorializing the event in our community so the memories of the victims do not fade.

Men and women in military uniform remember these attacks; they are on the front lines tasked with preventing another tragedy that threatens peace and security worldwide. As a nation united, we must remain committed to supporting them. We are reminded of their commitment through the recent loss of 13 American heroes recently killed in Afghanistan.

For the 20th anniversary of 9/11, the Saukville Fire Department and the Landt-Thiel American Legion Post are partnering to bring the community together for a silent march to show solidarity in the support for our armed forces. Everyone is invited to participate and meet at the firehouse around 5:30 pm. to commence the march to Grady Park for the ceremonies.
