LETTER: For inept pandemic handling, Biden scores worse than Trump

The opinion expressed in the letter to the editor headlined, “Mainstream media at it again, this time punishing Joe Biden,” was a heartfelt testimonial singing the praises of President Biden while blaming his precipitous drop in the polls on the media, the “distracted and disengaged,” as well as the, “ingrates on the right.”

The letter writer displayed little respect for his fellow Americans.  He is presumed that they are “sheeple,” easily lead by the media that is not doing its job of giving our president credit where it is due.

He cited an unnamed/unsearchable media study that “showed Biden was getting worse coverage from the Beltway press than Donald Trump…with his inept handling of the pandemic.”

In the presidential campaign, Trump was made out to be a joke and laughed at regarding his plans for a vaccine in “Operation Warp Speed.” During debates, the Biden and Harris team railed about it.
Kamala Harris said that she would not take the vaccine if President Trump recommended it, which incredibly, undermined public confidence from the get-go.      

Joe Biden said, “220,000 Americans dead.… Anyone who is responsible for that many deaths should not remain as president of the United States of America.” He added: “And so, folks, I will take care of this. I will end this.”

It turns out that Joe Biden’s plan to end Covid worked out about as well as his stunning promise to cure cancer. With the Covid death toll now surpassing the deaths that occurred under Trump, can we now hold President Biden to his very own standard?

On Dec. 21, Biden finally gave credit to the Trump administration for the development of the Covid-19 vaccine and praised his predecessor for getting a booster shot.” Still there are people who appear to be ingrates on the left and continue to attribute the bungling of the pandemic solely to Trump.

The letter also lauded the rebounding of the economy. In actuality, most Americans, including the right, left and independents, do not feel the progress due to inflation that is now at a historic 7.5% and exceeding wage gains.

An interesting but ironic side note to this accomplishment has been given to Biden on a silver platter by his opposition party. The top 10 states with the robust and growing economies are all Republican-run. The states at the very bottom are Democrat-run.

Sign me as an ingrate ready to hold our deflating buck and a calamity of failures on President Biden’s desk.
