LETTER: Hagedorn wouldn’t be swayed by politics as high court justice
To Ozaukee Press:
On April 2, the voters of Wisconsin will elect a justice to serve on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. I am a woman who has bachelor’s and master’s degrees and is a retired teacher and a grandmother. I am voting for Brian Hagedorn as the best person to represent the state of Wisconsin on the Supreme Court.
Brian Hagedorn has been unjustly attacked in ads on the media as someone who is not qualified and should not be on the state Supreme Court. I believe without a doubt that Hagedorn will uphold the state and federal Constitutions to the letter of the law.
His moral compass would not let him veer into political partisanship when it comes to making rulings from the bench. Judges should be neutral. Personal political views have no place with anyone serving on a judicial bench. Judges need to uphold the laws as written, not as how that judge might interpret them. Hagedorn would be fair and impartial. He would look at the facts of the case and determine the ruling accordingly.
I encourage voters to obtain information on the debate between Hagedorn and Lisa Neubauer that was held March 15 at the State Bar Center in Madison. The debate allowed Hagedorn to clarify and repudiate misinformation that had been publicized about him.
Wisconsin needs a Supreme Court justice who will uphold the law and make decisions based on fact and not opinion or political persuasion. That person is Brian Hagedorn.
