LETTER: Grothman’s votes no help to farmers, veterans or Ukraine

To Ozaukee Press:

The war in Iran lacks the support of most Americans. It is responsible for escalating fuel prices and, according to figures provided by the Pentagon, it has cost taxpayers $43.6 billion so far. On Resolution 89 directing the president to remove U.S. armed forces from Iran, Rep. Glenn Grothman voted nay.

The Take Care of America’s Veterans Act addresses veterans’ benefits, health

care and counseling. Grothman opposed it.

The Ukraine Support Act confirms U.S. support for Ukrainian defense in the war with Russia. Grothman voted nay.

The Agriculture, Rural Development,

Food and Drug Administration Act addresses financing for child nutrition programs and provides financial assistance for agricultural programs aiding farmers and for the Food Safety and Inspection Service. Grothman voted nay.

Brad Smith, running for Grothman’s seat in Congress, feels we have an obligation to the soldiers who put their lives on the line for this nation and the service injuries they sustained should be treated

and compensated appropriately.

Smith believes we should support our allies and hold individuals and countries who violate international law accountable.

Smith says: “Family farms are not just part of our economy. They are part of who we are. Rural Wisconsin deserves more than campaign-season lip service. It deserves real investment and real respect.”

Send Brad Smith to Washington.
