LETTER: As governor, Tiffany would be Trump’s man in Madison

To Ozaukee Press:

Wisconsin voters face a clear choice for governor: David Crowley, an experienced administrator who has led the state’s largest local government, or Tom Tiffany, who lacks comparable executive experience and whose policies favor billionaires over working families.

In the state Legislature and Congress, Tiffany has demonstrated unwavering loyalty to Republican leadership rather than the people he represents. In Madison, Tiffany supported Scott Walker’s economic agenda, including Act 10 and so-called right-to-work legislation.

These policies weakened workers’ bargaining power and put downward pressure on wages, contributing to an economic climate that left Wisconsin lagging behind its Midwestern neighbors.

We can point to Tiffany’s near-universal support for President Trump, but the bigger question is what he would do for Trump as governor. It’s not difficult to imagine Tiffany putting partisan interests ahead of Wisconsin’s interests, even when it comes to the state’s electoral votes in 2028.

We can also expect an escalation of ICE activity that could disrupt the lives of immigrant families, destabilize communities, and hurt small businesses that depend on immigrant workers.

These are not abstract concerns. A Tiffany administration could bring sweeping changes that undermine Wisconsin’s economy, communities and values.
