LETTER: Federal government cannot interfere in state elections

To Ozaukee Press:

No matter where you fall in the political spectrum, the integrity of our state election system should be a top-tier priority to all Americans.

I have served as an election worker for five years since moving to Random Lake, and it is one of the most exciting civic engagement processes I have ever been involved in. I am proud to greet my neighbors; welcome them to our polling location and do my part to ensure our elections are run smoothly.

Our independent state election system should be safe from federal interference or tampering. This is non-partisan. It shouldn’t matter what party holds the White House. The federal government has no right to interfere with our elections in Wisconsin, or any other state, by seizing voting machines or by any other means.

If federal interference or tampering is allowed, my vote and yours will be filtered through those in power. Chilling!
