LETTER: Family’s foundation made dreams come true for 25 years

To Ozaukee Press:

We want to thank the people of the community of Belgium and the surrounding area for supporting the T-Baum Foundation for 25 years.

The foundation was founded in 2001 in memory of our son Tyler, who died of brain cancer at the age of 16. Now we have decided to dissolve the foundation.

Over the past 25 years, T-Baum has granted 41 dreams for people facing life-threatening illnesses in Ozaukee and Sheboygan counties. The foundation’s remaining funds will be donated to the Common Heart Hospice Wishes Fund.

As a volunteer for Common Heart, which serves people in southern Wisconsin, Jean knows the organization is compassionate and caring.

We want to give a special thank you to St. Mark Lutheran Church of Belgium for sponsoring a run/walk annually for eight years and donating the total proceeds of the event to our foundation.

We were honored to have a caring community in our time of need. We are now retired and leading a good life with our daughter, her husband and our four grandkids.

Blessings to all.

Jean and Pat Birenbaum
