LETTER: American standards withering as Trump attacks institutions

To Ozaukee Press:

Here we go, the infrastructure is crumbling. How many news stories have we seen recently about serious problems in our nationwide air travel— reports of frequent, unexplained cancellations, permanent route closings, delays and confusion causing chaos? We’re beginning to see things fall apart. 

From February on, Trump’s agenda of destabilization has hit the news daily. Scary stuff—Elon and Trump slashing through our institutions, taking out the cogs and wheels that run American life. 

We are witnessing the weakening of our American standards? Stuff we take for granted. Like trusting that our food, medicine, travel, Medicare, freedom of speech, Social Security are all safe and are being upheld by standards of excellence with oversight. These institutions are being carelessly ripped apart.   Marian Baud
