Lee F. Hoppe

Lee F. Hoppe passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020. He was 79 years old.  

Lee was born at home in Clintonville, Wis., to Ben and Beatrice Hoppe on Nov. 25, 1940.  

Lee moved to Milwaukee in 1956 and graduated from Custer High School in 1959.  

He moved to Fredonia in 1984 and served one term as a Village of Fredonia trustee.  Lee was a dedicated employee at American Can Co. before retiring after 30 years.  

Lee went on to work at Rostad Aluminum Co. in Grafton from 1988 to 2013.  

He was a world traveler, having made trips to Puerto Rico, Peru, the Amazon and the Great Wall of China. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in northern Wisconsin and had a special place in his heart for animals, especially cats.           

Lee is survived by his brother Marvin Hoppe of Fredonia, Wis.; nieces Kathy (Mark) Wenzel of Port Washington, Debbie Hoppe of Atlanta, Ga., Connie Whitaker of Wisconsin Rapids, and Kim Szcyvbialka of Milladore, Wis.; and    nephews Frank (Beth) Hoppe of Waunakee, Wis., John (Karen) Hoppe of Greenville, Wis., and Tom Hoppe of Fredonia, Wis.  

He is further survived by great-nieces, nephews and friends.  

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, sister Emily Fraley, brother Bernie (Ann) Hoppe, sister-in-law Rose Hoppe and nephew Danny Fraley.   

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 824 Fredonia Ave., Fredonia, Wis., 53021, at 5 p.m.  

Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m.  Lee will be laid to rest the following day at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Ozaukee County Humane Society are appreciated.  

Lee’s family wishes to thank Gables on the Pond and Heartland Hospice for the care and compassion provided to Lee and his family.
