League awards first civic engagement scholarship

The League of Women Voters of Ozaukee County awarded its first $1,000 Civic Engagement Scholarship on May 24 to Abigail Horwitz of Homestead High School on May 24.

The scholarship honors League founder Martha Watts, 97.

The five founders of the League’s Youth Vote Group — Ava-Marie C., Sabrina Borg, Marisa D’Amico, Jayne Phillips and Horwitz — were also recognized at the annual members’ meeting.
