Lawrence Jacque

Lawrence Jacque passed away at the VA hospital in Milwaukee on Oct. 24, 2025.
He was born on July 18, 1946, on a dairy farm in Port Washington, Wis., where he lived and worked most of his life. He was a 1964 graduate of Port Washington High school.
Lawrence served in the Air Force from 1964 to 1968, including time in Vietnam. He received an FAA A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) certificate from Emory Riddle in Daytona, Fla., in 1970. Lawrence was honored as a Vietnam vet on a Stars and Stripes Honor Flight in 2018. He loved sky diving and had over 500 jumps, ending his career by winning a jump accuracy trophy in 1975. He also was a pilot and a scuba diver.
After the military, he moved back to Port Washington, married Joy Grant in 1972 and became the proud father of Shannon and Cris Grant and then Ann and Dan Jacque.
Lawrence took over the family farm in 1979 and taught many at the “Jacque Vocational School.” He was a talented mechanic.
Lawrence was a proud graduate of a one room schoolhouse in the Town of Port Washington and of his Luxembourg heritage, which includes Jacques, Kolbachs, Arendts and Didiers.
He is survived by his sister Rose Ann Multerer; sister-in-law Sheila Jacque; sons Shannon (Wendy) Grant and Daniel (Sherry) Jacque; daughter Ann (Brian) Chopp; daughter-in-law Nelly Grant Maxvill; and grandchildren Sarah, Rebecca, and Brandon Grant, Joseph (Ashley), Emily, Benjamin and Matthew Jacque and Madeline Chopp.
He was preceded in death by parents Raymond and Elvira Jacque, brothers Earl and Donald Jacque, brother-in-law Butch Multerer and son Cris Grant.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at St. John XIII Catholic Parish, St. Peter of Alcantara Church, 1800 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington, WI 53074. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the service.
Memorials are suggested to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
