Large schools dominate pool at Bulldog Invite

Large schools scored the lion’s share of the points at the Bulldog Invite in Cedarburg last Saturday.

The Grafton High School boys’ swim team scored 57 points and finished 11th of 12 teams. Port Washington had 45 points and was last.

Whitefish Bay won with 394. Cedarburg had 382.

Grafton’s Todd O’Connor was fourth in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.77 seconds and fifth in the 100 freestyle in 52.44 seconds.

The 200 freestyle relay of O’Connor, Lance Greicar, Charles Rose and Chase Mueller was 10th in 1:44.39.

For Port, Jack Sickles was 10th in the 500 freestyle in 5:27.48 and 11th in the 50 freestyle in 25.09.

Last Thursday, Nicolet beat Port at home, 127-44.

Sickles was second in the 100 butterfly in 1:00.97 and the 100 backstroke in 1:02.54.

Ben Falkenberg was second in the 200 freestyle in 2:11.93 and the 500 freestyle in 5:59.11.

Cory Riel was second in diving with 143.1 points.

Port swims at the West Bend Co-op at on Thursday, at an invite at Manitowoc Lincoln on Saturday and hosts Kiel at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20.

Grafton swims at Nicolet on Thursday and competes in a diving invite at Nicolet on Friday.
