Lakeside Alliance hires new pastor

Josh Melton has been appointed the associate pastor of family ministries for Lakeside Alliance Church in Port Washington.

Melton’s first day will be June 16 as he moves to the Port Washington area from Chicago with his wife Jenny and their daughters Maddie and Kaitlyn.

He will be the first person to hold the position for the church, which has been holding services in Port for the past two years.

A native of Austin, Texas, Melton graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in 2014 and has served at a Chicago church since before his graduation.

His duties at Lakeside include overseeing the church’s growing families and children’s ministry as well as assisting Lead Pastor Jon Vallier.

“Obviously, this is a significant step forward for us as a new church. As God has graciously blessed our efforts with new growth, we’re excited to see how He’ll use this new hire,” Vallier said. “Josh brings to Lakeside a valuable skill set, education, passion and experience.”

Lakeside Alliance was founded in January 2024 as an offshoot of Alliance Bible Church in Mequon and moved to its location at 1091 Shieling Ln., that May. Services are held at 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. each Sunday and include children’s programming for youngsters from birth through fourth grade. Programs for teenagers in fifth through 12th grades are held on Sunday evenings and during the week.
