Lake in a rage

The sun rose Thursday, April 11, to reveal Lake Michigan in full fury. Driven by a northeasterly spring gale, waves exploded against the Port Washington breakwater, engulfing the structure in white water and obscuring the lighthouse. That was the beginning of an unspringlike stretch of weather that on Saturday left boats in the marina and blooming daffodils on shore covered in snow.                                                                               Photo by Sam Arendt
