Kurtis W. Jones

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kurtis W. “Kurt” Jones, age 73, who departed this world peacefully on June 14, 2026, in Cedarburg, Wis.

Kurt was born on Dec. 6, 1952, and grew up in Grafton, where he graduated from Grafton High School.

A man of many interests, Kurt’s love for collecting brought joy and excitement into his life. He devoted himself to acquiring rare books, coins and sports memorabilia, showcasing his appreciation for history and storytelling. A die-hard Green Bay Packers fan, he proudly wore his team colors and enjoyed discussing the game with others. His appreciation for music was vast, providing a soundtrack to his life.   

Kurt savored the simple pleasures in life: camping beneath the stars, indulging in sweet treats and always ensuring to finish the treats that others overlooked. His quiet demeanor concealed a world of rich thoughts and reflections that he often expressed through creative writing.

Kurt is survived by his daughters Dezarae (Heath) Jones-Hartwig, Sarah (David) Peltonen and Deidre (Raul Bonde) Jones; grandchildren Odin, Cian, Beckett, Elsie, Esme and Iris; siblings Keith (Karen) Jones, Kim (Denise) Jones, Kaye (Randy)  Peterson and Kevin (Karen) Jones; and special friend Sharon Moore. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Wilson and Marcella “Sally” (nee Roden) Jones, grandson Milo, aunt and uncle Marietta “Petie” and Ervin Barth and his beloved dog Luna.

His family will hold a private memorial service to celebrate his life. Plopper Funeral Home, Grafton, is handling the arrangements.
