KUDOS: Woman’s Club raffle funds scholarship

The Port Washington Woman’s Club would like to thank all the shoppers at the farmers market who supported our basket raffle by buying tickets this past season.  Each of 10 baskets presented was valued at $100 or more. Shoppers were eager to help the club raise funds for its annual scholarship presentation.

At our 120th anniversary celebration meeting, the names of nine patrons of the market were drawn as winners. The winners were delightfully surprised to receive a call that they won and that the prize would be delivered to their doorstep.

This year’s ticket sales exceeded the club’s expectations and will provide a scholarship to one worthy Port High graduate. Other community organizations will also receive funds from the proceeds to continue their good works.

The club members responsible for the beautiful creations deserve credit for giving their all to make this fundraiser a success.
