KUDOS: Thank you, Port, for your Halloween event

To Ozaukee Press:

On Saturday, Oct. 26, my family and I participated in an activity in Port Washington that I hope will become a tradition. An ice cream cone, candy corn, an ice cream sundae, an Oreo cookie and a Reese’s peanut butter cup—members of my “sweet family”—made their way through downtown Port Washington. It was a perfect day for trick-or-treating, and we enjoyed ourselves as we went store to store, watching other families having fun and searching for the bucket holding the treats.

I would like to thank the businesses and stores that participated in this enjoyable morning. My family had so much fun going into each doorway to see the other costumed children and the treats they were receiving. I can imagine that it was no small task to conduct business as usual, so I wanted to make sure that we expressed our appreciation for the extra effort these merchants took to provide an enjoyable Halloween activity.

My three grandchildren had so much fun as they went to each pumpkin-signed doorway and made their selection. I, too, enjoyed myself, watching them and marveling at the awesome costumes worn by children and adults. I don’t think that I ever enjoyed Halloween quite as much as seeing doors open to young and old alike.

I assure all the businesses involved with this event that your effort to help make this a success did not go unnoticed. We promise to patronize your establishments to show our appreciation. Thank you so much.
