KUDOS: Rich variety of trees gives city a glorious display of fall color

The beautiful autumn season is upon us. And thanks to Jon Crain, the City of Port Washington’s director of parks, recreation and forestry, and his department, our streets reflect his efforts to plant many varieties of trees that now have leaves filled with glorious autumn colors.  

A drive west on Grand Avenue in the sunset hour is a beautiful sight with the sunlight enhancing those colors. 

Not only does Jon’s selection give a variety of colors, it also protects the city from blights. With the variety of trees, no one disease can blight the streets.
