KUDOS: Portal event kicks off a new Fish Day with great success

To Ozaukee Press:

With sincere gratitude to the Port Washington community, the Portal Inc. Run, Walk and Roll returned with 557 participants. For 35 years, this event has launched the Fish Day festival. Thank you to everyone who supported our success.

Proceeds from the Run, Walk and Roll provide vital services and supports to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. We thank the Fish Day committee for the festival venue and to the many sponsors whose financial support provides the start-up funds for this important fundraiser.

We appreciate the Port Washington residents who offered encouragement and provided water along the way and the Port Police and Fire Departments that provided their safety expertise.

Participating runners and walkers enjoyed the picturesque view of the lakefront and neighborhoods.

The event would not be possible without the many runners and walkers who start their day early to participate and to the Portal staff, board of directors and volunteers who work to ensure an organized and fun run and walk.

This year, we also thank Race Day Events for their experience in managing our event and Ozaukee Press for the great coverage following our two year pandemic hiatus.

Everyone’s contributions make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities in Ozaukee County.
