Kristen Kory

Kristen Kory, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister and friend, joyfully embraced eternal peace on the evening of Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the age of 80. A lifelong light in the lives of many, Kristen faced her journey with Parkinson’s disease with remarkable grace and strength.
Born on Oct. 12, 1944, in Chicago, Ill., Kristen was the youngest daughter of John and Delores (nee Szura) Kory.
She grew up in Ingleside, Ill., where she blossomed into a vibrant young woman, graduating from Grant Community High School in 1962.
On Sept. 13, 1970, she married Timothy McCormack at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in McHenry, Ill.
After high school, Kristen started a career as an administrative assistant in the medical field. She had a passion for clothing and fashion and managed various retail stores throughout her life. She returned to the medical field and retired as the office manager at Illinois Bone and Joint Institute Rehabilitation in Bannockburn in December 2015. Her warmth and dedication touched countless lives.
She was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg, Ill. Her greatest joy, however, came with the arrival of her grandchildren, who filled her heart with boundless love and purpose. Kristen embraced her role as grandma with open arms, pouring her energy into creating treasured memories with Keeghan, Olivia, Cael, Logan and Brooklyn.
Kristen’s zest for life extended to her love of travel, discovering new places and sharing experiences with her family and friends. Her laughter, wisdom and unwavering kindness will forever be cherished.
Kristen is survived by her two children, Kory (Joseph) Eernisse and Brendon (fiance Christy St. Germain). She will lovingly be remembered by her four grandchildren, Olivia, Cael, Logan and Brooklyn, and her beloved sister Dianne Kory. She is further survived by other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tim, her grandson Keeghan McCormack and her parents John and Delores Kory.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2302 W. Church St., Johnsburg, IL.
