Kopp leads Port in biking finale

Local mountain biking teams wrapped up their seasons last month at the Trek Trails State Championships in Waterloo.

For Port Washington, Kaden Kopp was 23rd for varsity boys.

Gabe Chandler was 71st for junior varsity II boys.

For freshmen, Harrison Ebbers was 24th, Brennan Shuster was 25th, Griffin Sheriff was 34th, Finnegan Pashak was 41st and Charlie Nowak was 48th.

Leena Suddendorf led the Pirates’ eighth-grade girls by finishing 16th. Vera Harris was 30th.

Beckett Shuster was 45th for Port’s sixth-grade boys.

For Grafton, Jacob Butler was 20th in the eighth-grade boys’ race.

Caleb Butler was 16th in the seventh-grade boys’ race. Ashton Schuelke was 48th and Asher Kagamba was 123rd.

Liam Hoctor was 77th in the sixth-grade boys’ race.

For the Ozaukee County Composite team, Logan McLarty was 30th in the eighth-grade boys’ race.

Port Washington scored 7,245 points and finished the season in 21st place of 53 Divison 2 teams. Ozaukee County Composite had 972 points and was 52nd. Grafton was last with 599.

In individual standings, Sheriff finished 32nd of 72 Division 2 riders, Brennan Shuster was 43rd and Finnegan Pashak was 47th. Charlie Nowak was 50th and Ebbers was 54th.
