PAID OBITUARY

Kenneth Steffen, 92, devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend died peacefully on Dec. 7, 2018 while residing in De Pere, Wisconsin.

Ken was born May 15, 1926, to Peter and Rosalie Steffen in Fredonia.

Ken is survived by his wife of 68 years, Geraldine (Lamb) and four children; son Kim (wife Joan) of Fredonia, daughter Lyn (fiancé Randy Meinke) of Princeton, son Todd Steffen of Green Bay, and daughter Mary (husband Mike) of Goodyear, Ariz.

He was the proud grandfather of 11 and great grandfather of 12.

His parents, Peter and Rosalie, sisters Bernice Croatt, Doris Watry and his brother Marvin preceded him in death.

A member of the Greatest Generation, MM2 Ken proudly served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II.

Upon returning home, he worked side by side with his father and took over the family plumbing and heating business which has now been in operation in Fredonia for three generations totaling 92 years.

Family and friends will remember him as a positive, hard working, optimistic, gracious and kindhearted man who always approached life and its challenges with a sense of humor.  

An 11 a.m. memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, at St. Rose Chapel of Divine Savior Parish, 315 Fredonia Ave, Fredonia WI.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m.  

Internment will be in St. Rose Cemetery immediately following the memorial service.

Funeral services are being handled by Ryan Funeral Home of De Pere.
