Kay R. Kofler

Kay R. Kofler of Port Washington passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 16, 2020. She was 76 years old.

Kay was born in Sturgeon Bay on Nov. 17, 1943, to Harold and Norma (Zeunert) Heinzelman.

Kay was a talented and creative seamstress who designed holiday dresses and Halloween costumes for her grandchildren.  She was also an exceptional cook and baker. Her faith sustained her throughout her life.

Kay was a dedicated member of Friedens Church in Port Washington. Above all, Kay’s family was most important to her.

Kay is survived by children Robin (Andrew) Meyer, Greg Esselmann and Brad Esselmann; grandchildren Emma and Ellie Meyer, Matthew and Ava Esselmann and Rebecca Dahlke; and siblings Nola Schultz, Sandy (Richard) Reiter, Kristine Collins and James (Anita) Heinzelman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Kofler and brother Richard Heinzelman.

Interment was to take place on Monday, April 20, 2020, at 10 a.m. at Holden East Cemetery in Port Washington. Pastor Brandon Lemons was to conduct committal prayers.

A special thanks to our dear friend Tami Leighty for her devotion to Kay during her final hours.

Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
