Kathleen A. Lehnhardt

Kathleen A. Lehnhardt of Cedar Grove passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at the age of 85.
Kathleen was born on March 19, 1939, in Sheboygan, Wis., to the late Herbert and Ruth (Block) Schmiedel.
She graduated from Sheboygan North High School with the Class of 1957.
Later in life, she was united in marriage to Gary D. Lehnhardt on June 23, 1989, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Random Lake, Wis. They spent more than 20 years together. He preceded her in death on Oct. 13 2009.
Kathleen retired as a proud certified nursing assistant for Sheboygan County after many years.
She was an avid shopper, often going to different antique shops to look for depression glass.
Adventurous at heart, Kathleen enjoyed traveling with her daughters and loved to go on cruises with her girls. At the young age of 85, she was so proud that she took a helicopter ride in Alaska, where she got to experience walking on a glacier and mushing with sled dogs.
When she wasn’t traveling the world, she had a passion for reading, a delight for her granddaughter’s sourdough bread and a love for animals, specifically golden retrievers.
Over everything, Kathleen valued spending time and making memories with her family.
Kathleen was known as “Bunny” to some and “Fossil” to other.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children Steve (Lori) Hicks, Kathy Lopez, Joe (Patty) Hicks, Laura Hicks and Kelly (Mike) Teunissen, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren with one more on the way. She is further survived by her sister Sharon Schmiedel.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gary and her brother Herb.
Her family would like to thank the first responders, doctors and nurses for their compassion and care.
