Katherine M. Evenson

Katherine M. Evenson “Kitty” passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. She was 96 years old.  

Kitty was born on Aug. 11, 1923, in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. She was the daughter of Ernest and Frances Jackson.  

Kitty served on the United States Coast Guard and was honorably discharged on March 7, 1946.  

She spent her years raising her family and maintaining the household in Port Washington. She enjoyed old movies and she liked to sing along with them.  She was very dedicated to her Catholic faith at St. Peter’s Church and loved participating in the church choir.

Kitty is survived by her children  Mark Evenson, Bonnie Schmidt, Greg (Karina) Evenson and Michael (Kelly) Evenson; grandchildren Ashley Arnold and Allen, Blake, Leif and Erik Evenson; three great-grandchildren and sisters Jeanette Kervin, Charlotte Wulz and Colette Olson.  

She was preceded in death by her daughter Marilyn Arnold, sister Rita Boudwin and brother Bob Jackson.

A private Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John XXIII Parish, St. Peter of Alcantara Church, in Port Washington with private interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery to follow.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John XXIII Parish.  

Kitty’s family would like to thank Forest Haven and the hospice team who took care of Kitty throughout the last few years and her final days.
