Justin Alan “Jay” Jarrett

Justin Alan “Jay” Jarrett of Mequon, Wis., passed away on Aug. 11, 2024, at age 45.

Justin was born in Rockford, Ill., on Dec. 10, 1978, to Teddy Alan Jarrett and Gracen Faye (King) Smith.

Justin graduated from Harlem High School in 1997 and earned an associate’s degree in electrical engineering from Rock Valley College while enrolled in an apprenticeship with Ingersoll.

He worked at several local manufacturing facilities including Ingersoll, Bourn & Koch, Eclipse, Chrysler and finally Harley-Davidson Powertrain in Menominee Falls, Wis.

Justin enjoyed motorcycles, the outdoors, fishing, camping, traveling and gatherings with family and friends. He was a master of fixing things and always yearned to help others.

Justin is survived by wife Amber Jarrett; daughter JayLynne Jarrett; son Jeremy Jarrett; grandmother Gennievee (Jenny) Jarrett; mother Gracen (Glenn) Smith; parents-in-law Gerald and Pamela Steinhilber; brother Richard (Nikki) Jarrett; sister Crystal (Scott) Blank; brother-in-law Charlie Steinhilber; nieces Hailee Jarrett and Sadie Blank; and nephews William Jarrett and Jasper Blank; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

He was predeceased by father Teddy Jarrett, grandma Mary (Joe) Sharp and grandpas Bob Jarrett and Eugene King.

A celebration of Justin’s life was held on Aug. 17, 2024, in Cedarburg, Wis.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Justin’s name can be made to his wife Amber and his children.

Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington proudly served the Jarrett family.
