July activities scheduled at Port library

Adult activities at the Niederkorn Library in Port Washington have been announced.

Port Puzzles, the library’s latest grab ‘n go kit, are available while they last. Each kit includes a variety of word puzzles, origami and word search puzzles

The D&D Group meets from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays.

Players and game masters of all experience levels are welcome to join D&D or RPG sessions in the community room or quiet room.

A grief support group  meets from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays in the community room.

The group is facilitated by Colson Leach, bereavement coordinator with Compassus Hospice.

Local nonprofit groups will discuss their goals for the community during the monthly Port Conversations program at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 6.

The topic coincides with the summer reading challenge theme, “All Together Now.” Groups participating include Port Main Street Inc., Port Lions Club and the Port Washington-Saukville Rotary Club.   

Port Washington author and coppersmith Sara Dahmen will discuss her new book, “Outcast 1883,” and what it’s like working with Hollywood as her books are adapted to TV during a 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, program.

A question-and-answer session and book signing will follow the talk.

The Friday Morning Book Talk group will meet at 9:30 a.m. July 14 in the quiet room.

Copies of the featured book will be available for check out.

The Novel Ideas Book Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 17, in the quiet room.

The club is for fiction fanatics, and copies of the featured book will be available for check out.

A “Welcome to Medicare Workshop” will be held at 5:30 p.m.  Tuesday, July 18.

Ashley Mutsch, an elder benefit specialist with the Ozaukee County Aging and Disability Resource Center, will present the program.

The BYOBook Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at Inventor’s Brewpub.

Those attending are asked to share the book they are currently reading or just finished, no matter the genre.
