Judy V. Schoenfeldt

Judy V. Schoenfeldt of Saukville passed away at her home on Nov. 1, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was 72 years old.

Judy was born in Port Washington, Wis., on June 28, 1951, the daughter of Arthur and Virginia (nee Anzia) Buechler.

She attended Cedarburg High School and graduated in the Class of 1969.

She was united in marriage with Richard “Dick” Schoenfeldt on June 9, 1973, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg. The couple settled in Saukville and raised their family of two children.

Judy was caring, kind and a generous soul. She was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Judy was well known for her baked goods. One would never leave her house hungry. She would bake for several organizations such as the church, American Legion and the Saukville Fire Department. Judy volunteered for the American Red Cross, Saukville Fire Department Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Judy was known as the familiar face from the local grocery stores, having worked at Piggly Wiggly in Cedarburg and Sentry Foods and Kohl’s Department Store in Grafton.

Judy was an avid Brewers fan.

Above all, spending time with her family was one of her favorite pastimes.

Judy is survived by her children Jennifer (Bill) Brazelton of Saukville and Richard Jr. “Chip” (Jennifer) Schoenfeldt of Kansas City, Mo.

She is further survived by her siblings Shirley (Donald) Fechter, Beverly (Richard) Beyer, Ronald (Patricia) Buechler and Bonnie (Wayne) Gierach, sisters-in-law Toni (Gary) Fischer, Tami (Glenn) Viesselmann, Karen (Bob Ellisor) Schulz, and Kim (Tod) Becker, several nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.

Judy is also survived by her granddogs Max and Murray and grandcats Oliver and Myrtle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Richard “Dick” Schoenfeldt (2021) and sister-in-law Anita Schoenfeldt.

A funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at St. John XXIII Catholic Parish,   Immaculate Conception Church, 145 Church St., Saukville, WI 53080. Father Pat Wendt will preside. The family will greet visitors at the church on Saturday from noon until the service at 2 p.m.

Judy will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.

Memorials are suggested to the Saukville Landt-Thiel American Legion Post 470 Auxiliary.
