Joyann M. Benz

Joyann M. Benz, 58, died in her sleep at her Saukville home Thursday, Jan. 10.

Ms. Benz was born in Port Washington to Edward and Theresa Rychtik Benz on Jan. 24, 1960.

For more than 10 years, she drove a school bus for the Port Washington-Saukville School District.

Ms. Benz loved the outdoors and spent much of her time on her all-terrain vehicle, and fishing around Wisconsin.

Her family said she would be the first to lend a helping hand and she spent much of her time traveling between Saukville and Wautoma to care for her mother.

Ms. Benz loved animals, especially dogs, and she was seldom seen without one or more of her four-legged friends. Her Chihuahua Buddy recently died.

Ms. Benz is survived by her mother Theresa of Wautoma and special friend Kathy Cole of Saukville.

She was preceded in death by her father Edward.

A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 19, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Cedarburg with the Rev. Linda Westphal-Buth presiding.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Saukville.

Memorials to Tailwaggers 911 in Grafton or a charity of the donor’s choice are suggested.
