Joseph “Joe” Tippy

Joseph “Joe” Tippy of Saukville passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 92 years of age.

He was born on Jan. 5, 1933, in Cherokee, Iowa, to Roy and Marie (Fuhrman) Tippy.

He graduated from Immaculate Conception School in Iowa with the Class of 1951.

Joe proudly served in the U.S. Army.

On May 28, 1960, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Patricia Nault.

Joe was an active member of the Moose Lodge for more than 50 years and dedicated more than 45 years to the American Legion.

His love for dancing was contagious. He was always the first to hit the dance floor and the last to leave it. In addition, he enjoyed pitching horseshoes and enthusiastically “advised” younger players as they learned the ropes.

A man of many passions, Joe was an avid bowler and golfer. He found joy in camping with his family and friends. He was an avid traveler, having been to all 50 states.

Joe always made sure his family was taken care of and made many cherished memories with his children and grandchildren. They were his world. He was also a man of great faith and an active member of his parish.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia (Nault) Tippy; daughters Ann (Andrew) Tippy-Sefcik and Cathy Tippy Wiedmer; his grandchildren Haily (Ryan) Lancour, Jennifer (Armani Rivera) Sefcik and Monica Sefcik; brother Mike (Karmen) Tippy; and in-laws Carol Severson, Steve (Margaret) Nault and Bill (Beverly) Nault; along with other family members and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother George, sisters Teresa, Agnes, Ruth, Patricia and Margaret and his favorite grandson, Austin Bares.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 2 p.m. at St. John XXIII Catholic Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, 120 Church Ln., Saukville. The family will greet friends and relatives at the church from noon until the service.

Joe will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Saukville following the service.

The family would like to thank the hospice staff for their dedicated care during Joe’s last days.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s name may be made to the Saukville Moose Lodge or American Legion.
