Joanne T. Faucette
PAID OBITUARY
Joanne T. Faucette (nee Torpey), age 85, of Hartford, went home to the Lord on Monday, July 23, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Joanne was born in Allentown, Pa., on Sept. 8, 1932, to Joseph C. and Anne (nee Flatley) Torpey.
She was raised in Pittsburgh and graduated from Dormont High School. She went on to earn her nursing degree from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, in 1953. She attended Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee where she earned her BSM in 1988. Joanne worked as a registered nurse for 45 years.
She married Ronald G. Faucette on Dec. 10, 1954, when they eloped to Parkland, Md.
After raising their six children in Milwaukee, Ron and Joanne retired to Ocala, Fla., in 1988, where they lived for 18 years.
Joanne became involved in the hospice movement and was a liaison to HIV/AIDS groups.
Joanne enjoyed water aerobics, reading, acting and needlework. She was very proud of her Irish heritage.
She was the best mother ever of Deborah (Brian Bishop), Ronald Jr. (Dani), Patricia (David Cheek) Raymond, Michael (Ellen), S. Grace (Bill Bethurum) Lesage, Renee (Perry Borchardt) and Joseph; proud grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of seven; sister of Marie Kwalik of Kansas City, Kan.; and sister-in-law of Wanda Faucette of Munising, Mich.
She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends and the “Rhinelander Bunch.”
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ronald, her parents Joseph and Anne, stepmother Marie (Gobs) Torpey and Joseph, her stillborn son.
A Mass of Christian burial for Joanne will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 264 W. State St., Hartford, with Father David LaPlante officiating.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Mequon.
This is a celebration of life. Please wear colorful clothing; no black. Please laugh, smile and enjoy the Irish music.
