Jerry Turk

Mr. Jerry Turk of Saukville passed away unexpectedly at his home Sunday, April 9, 2023. He was 70 years old.

Gerald was born on March 8, 1953, in Milwaukee, the son of Anthony and Paula (nee Hill) Turk.

He attended local schools before proudly serving in the U.S. Army as a military policeman.

After he left the service, Jerry continued his education at Milwaukee Area Technical College and later earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

On Nov. 1, 1997, Jerry was united in marriage with Catherine Best in Las Vegas.  The couple settled in Arizona.

Jerry was a salesman at heart and enjoyed running his business, A-Z Bar Supplies, until he retired in 2011. They moved back to Wisconsin in 2020 and bought a home in Saukville.

Jerry loved dogs. He and Cathie frequently helped dogs they found near their home, rescued dogs from shelters and fostered puppies.

They enjoyed camping on their property in western Wisconsin, taking walks to the lighthouse in the Port Washington harbor and hiking trails around Devils Lake.

Jerry was a movie aficionado and had hundreds of movies on DVD and VHS in his collection.

His love of sweet treats was known to family and friends alike, and he frequently found himself to be the recipient of homemade goodies.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Cathie, daughter Gracie Limbach of St. Francis, granddaughter Chelsey Turk, also of St. Francis, and grandson Hunter Turk of Milwaukee.

He is also survived by his brothers Tony (Kelly) and Matthew (Stephanie) Turk and nieces and nephews Ben Turk, Joe Turk, Michael Turk, Jessica (Vu) Thai, Logan Turk, Matisen Turk, Danielle Turk and Jeffery Pierson Jr.

Jerry is further survived by his parents-in-law John and Ann Best, brother-in-law John (Sarah) Best, his loving canine companions Dozer and Titan, other family members and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tony and Paula and brothers Daniel Turk, Paul Person and Jeffery Pierson Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at Our Lady of Good Hope, 7152 N. 41st Street, Milwaukee. Father Greg Greiten will preside.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, April 19, at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the Mass at 1:30 p.m.
