Jerome ‘Knuck’ Klug

Jerome Klug, 75, a lifelong resident of Adell, died unexpectedly but  peacefully at his home in Adell, Wis., on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023.

He attended various grade schools and Random Lake High School. He went out with the Class of 1966.

Jerome worked for 42 years at Simplicity Manufacturing in Port Washington, where he was in charge of the paint department.  He also worked at various farms and for the Village of Adell, and coached summer baseball for his sons.

Jerome enjoyed spending his time with family and friends. He enjoyed his yearly fishing trip to the Tri State Classic Walleye Tournament on the Mississippi River, where “Team Klug” usually placed in the money. He enjoyed many fishing and hunting trips with his friends and family. He always knew where the big one lived, but somehow it always managed to escape!

He was involved with the Adell Fire Department and Adell Sportsman Club, and was the secretary of the Adell Mini Mart Coffee Clutch.

His pinnacle of outdoor success came as head-shot caller and critique boss at Camp Whack-A-Duck in Oshkosh, Wis. during the opening weekend of every duck season since 1998.

He was always willing to help anyone in need and played cards any chance he could!

Jerome married Dian Diener (nee Schmidt) in March 1972. Together they had two sons, James and Matthew.

Jerome is survived by his two sons, James of Silver Creek and Matthew (Jilleen) of Oshkosh, Wis.; his grandchildren Grace, Riley and Ellen Klug; one brother, Robert (Janice) Klug of Plymouth, Wis.; one sister, Sandra (Dennis) Hiller of Random Lake, Wis.; and his stepbrothers Kenneth (Diane) Kruschke of Cascade, Wis., and Glen (Dianne) Kruschke of Plymouth, Wis.
