January activities for kids set at Port library

    Children’s activities at the Niederkorn Library in Port Washington have been announced.
    Storytimes will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays and Fridays. The interactive sessions led by Miss Amy also include crafts for children to take home and do.
    Masks are encouraged.
    STEAM Storytimes with stories dealing with science, technology, engineering, arts, and math will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of the month.
    A Sensory Saturday for children with a sensory processing disorder or autism and their families will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Jan. 8.
    Those attending are asked to dress to make a mess.
    Sessions for children to read to Diesel the therapy dog will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursdays.

    The winter reading challenge, “Read for a Better World,” will run from Jan. 1 to 31.
    Children of all ages are encouraged to register for the challenge at wjnlib.beanstack.org or the Beanstack Tracker app.
    Youngsters who read 600 minutes in January will receive a prize pack that includes hot chocolate, a candy cane and winter bookmark.
