Jacqueline Wilfer

Jacqueline “Jackie” Wilfer of Port Washington passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, March 20, 2021.
She was the daughter of John and Pearl DaRonco, born on Aug. 4, 1938, and raised in Hurley, Wis.
Jackie was united in marriage with Gene E. Wilfer at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend on July 20, 1957, and prior to Gene’s death in 2017 they celebrated 60 years together. The couple had three children.
Jackie managed the Ben Franklin store in Port Washington for 18 years. She worked at Port Washington High School until her retirement in the “1900s.”
Jackie and Gene enjoyed their retirement traveling throughout the U.S. and enjoying time spent with family and friends. She was a mother and mentor to many and volunteered at St. Peter of Alcantara with the special needs program. Her memory will always be treasured.
Those left to cherish Jackie’s memory are her children James (Kelly) Wilfer of Plymouth, Sandra (John) Schultz of Hartford and Wendy Behling of Hartford; her grandchildren Amanda, AJ, Jasmine, Harley and Joshua; great-grandchildren Sean, Skylar, Remington and Astraea; and brothers Eugene (Shirley) DaRonco and Russell (Nancy) Hewitt.
Jackie was greeted at the gates of heaven by her parents, her husband Gene, brother John (Laura) DaRonco and great-grandson Devon Sweeney.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at St. John XXIII Parish’s St. Peter of Alcantara Church, in Port Washington with Father Pat Wendt presiding.
Preceding the Mass on Thursday, the family will receive visitors at Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Jackie will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Port Washington.
The family thanks the loving support of many family and friends and Horizon Hospice for the loving care of Jackie.
