An inside look at Rocket Academy

Rocket Academy, the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District’s public charter school that teaches skilled trades to juniors and seniors from across the area, held an open house last week with a couple of new features. “This round we added an ‘Ask a Parent’ booth, which was a hit, and for the first time had our Haas MiniMill CNC machines running,” Academy Director David Friend said. “We had a nice mix of students thinking of enrolling, area businesses and just curious community members, but we also had several middle school families curious about how to prepare for Rocket Academy over their eighth, ninth and 10th-grade years.” Above, junior Sophia Robishaw talked to a group of attendees.         Photo by Sam Arendt
