Hospital addition takes shape

Construction crews continue to work in earnest at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, building a 125,000-square-foot addition to the northeast corner of the hospital. The project, seen in the rendering direclty above, began last fall and includes a renovation and expansion of the hospital’s emergency room. The project is expected to add 84 private patient suites in a five-story tower, supplementing the existing 132 beds when work is completed in the fall of 2027. It is being driven by increased demand for services, officials said. The Grafton hospital opened in 2010.   Photo by Sam Arendt
