Honoring veterans with flags for their graves

Working during a late April shower, Boy Scouts and leaders from Troop 855, including (from left) Aaron Zamecnik, Judah Leinss, Finley Zamecnik, Carson Krentz and Jeff Williams, placed American flags on the graves of veterans in Union Cemetery in Port Washington ahead of Memorial Day on Monday, May 29. The Port troop, which is sponsored by the St. John XXIII Men’s Society, also marked the graves of veterans with flags in St. Mary’s Cemetery and the Hohlden East cemetery off Moore Road.
