Holland Fest runs draw hundreds

Return of events see Viets, Johnson retain their titles from 2019

The Holland Fest Run returned on Saturday and so did a strong contingent of runners despite the heat and humidity.

After a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic, more than 300 people competed in the 10-kilometer and two-mile races, just as in 2019.

Aaron Viets, 31, of Cedar Grove won his second straight 10K overall title, finishing in 33 minutes, 23.93 seconds, which was 20 seconds faster than he ran two years ago.

Tammi Holle, 26, won the female division in 45:35.62.

Joe Johnson, 30, of Chicago repeated as overall champion in the two-mile race, winning in 10:44.19, 35 seconds faster than in 2019.

La Weser, 52, of Sheboygan won the female two-mile title in 13:59.81.
