Hitting all the right notes

Four Port Washington High School musicians were among a select group of students from throughout the state to perform in Wisconsin School Music Association Honors Music Project concerts recently. From left, Brandon Hale, Margo Halbleib and Nya Sukawaty were among the 311 students selected through auditions to participate in the WSMA Middle Level State Honors Program. They performed in the Honors Choir in Waunakee on Saturday, Oct. 26. The Middle Level choir is for students in sixth through eighth grades, and although Hale, Halbleib and Sukawaty are now freshmen, they were eighth-graders at Thomas Jefferson Middle School when they auditioned in April. Port High junior Shannon Knowski (right) was among the 428 students selected to participate in the WSMA High School State Honors Program. She performed with the Honors Mixed Choir on Thursday, Oct. 24, in Madison.
