A heartfelt day for remembering

Memorial Day in Saukville was celebrated with a parade and other activities, but it began solemnly at Union cemetery, with an honor guard (top photo) and Cliff Polheber playing “Amazing Grace” on the bagpipes (second photo). Polheber is a Saukville Scout leader who has two sons currently serving in the military. Saukville resident Rodney Cantrall (bottom photo) paused at the grave of his brother, Russell Cantrall, who served in the Marines during Operation Desert Storm. Rodney is a member of the Sons of the American Legion and the Legion Riders. Photos by Sam Arendt
