Hartford shuts out Saukville

The Saukville Saints managed just four hits in a 10-0 shutout in eight innings at Hartford last Friday.

The Hawks scored two runs in the bottom of the first on a misplayed liner to right field and singles by Nate Roethle and Taylor Anderson.

They added one run in the second inning on a single by Zach Brown, followed by a stolen base and two infield outs.

Two more runs came across in the third inning on a walk, single and finally a double by Griff Luke, all with two outs.

After three scoreless innings, the Hawks plated two runs in the seventh and three more runs in the eighth to end the game via the 10-run mercy rule.

Mike Sherrick went the distance for the Saints, allowing 10 runs (five earned), 13 hits and two walks.

Paul Terrique had two of the Saints’ four hits.

Roethle had three hits for the Hawks.

Brody Marks whiffed 12 and walked none in eight innings.

The Saints host the Cedarburg Mercs at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
