Greg Niemann

Greg Niemann of Hubertus, Wis., passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday evening, Dec. 31, 2023. He was 57 years old.

Gregory was born in Meadville, Penn., on Feb. 23, 1966, to Donald and Barbara (nee Minetti) Niemann. The couple were blessed with two children, and their paths later diverged. His mother moved to the Saukville, Wis., area when Greg was a child and Barbara married Roderick Carter, who lovingly raised Greg and his brother Todd as his own.

Greg attended local schools and graduated from Ozaukee High School with the Class of 1984 before continuing his education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Mr. Niemann was currently employed at Gator Transit in Richfield as a heavy equipment operator. Prior to that, he had numerous years of experience in sales in the automotive, food and healthcare industries.

Greg was a Honda Goldwing enthusiast and an avid motorcyclist. He held his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying Cessna class aircraft. Mr. Niemann was also a volunteer with the West Bend Crime Prevention Patrol.

When he was younger, Greg became a percussionist and played drums with the Ozaukee High School band, as well as several local bands in the area, including Section 8.

He was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son Shawn (Ellen) Niemann and grandson Drew Niemann, both of Luxemburg, Wis., longtime partner Maggie Irace of Hubertus and stepfather Rod Carter of Saukville. He is further survived by sister Kandice Kreider, other family members and many friends.

Greg was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Carter, brother Todd Niemann, grandparents Charles and Theresa Minetti and father Donald Niemann

The family was to receive visitors on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, Wis.

Greg will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grafton at a later date.
