Grant helps save lives

MEMBERS OF THE Waubeka Fire Department posed with newly acquired water rescue gear purchased with a grant through the Gary Sinise Foundation. From left are Assistant Chief John Bores, emergency medical technician Gunnar Groth, firefighters Ty Duschl and Hunter Hess, Captain Austin Koehler, EMT Asia Schneider and Chief Jason Caswell. The new gear consists of 12 personal flotation devices, eight wetsuits, eight water helmets, eight pair of special water boots, four ice rescue suits, 24 carabiners, 14 rope throw bags, rope, an inflatable rescue craft and 12 mechanics’ gloves, dive knives, whistles and socks.
