A graduation worthy of not one but two celebrations

Members of Port Washington High School’s Class of 2021 celebrated graduation on Sunday not once but twice, first with a ceremony in the school gym, then with a vehicle parade through downtown. Although the ceremony was held indoors, graduates waited until they were outside in the school courtyard to toss their caps (top photo). During the ceremony, a proud Josh Bongiorno (top right) flashed his diploma. With the formal commencement out of the way, graduates like Arizona State University-bound Kristin Stewart (bottom right), who rode on top of an SUV, relaxed as they paraded down Franklin Street. The graduates of area high schools will be featured in Ozaukee Press’ Salute to the Class of 2021 special section published next week.
