Good tastes abound at Veterans Memorial Park

Veterans Memorial Park continues to be one of the most popular recreational venues in Grafton, attracting crowds with a variety of family-friendly activities along the Milwaukee River. Thursdays is one of the busiest days of summer in the park with the annual farmers market held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., followed by a concert series presented by Grafton Area Live Arts. Top photo, during the market, the Mel’s Charities concessions stand raises funds for special-needs causes, scholarship drives and service organizations. Helping Jan Malkowski serve food July 11 were Andy Petersen and Dick Diedrick. Middle photo, Dennis and Linda Wendtlandt performed the same day in a GALA show, which was enjoyed by audience members seated on blankets and lawn chairs (below). Photos by Sam Arendt
